This machine has a lot of installed software on it so we did not want to re-image but that is likely what may happen in the am.New machine ran all available Windows Updates as well as Thinkvantage hardware updates.All seems fine. User comes in day 1 and fires up WordOutlookExcel.We take another look and MS Office is givng the following pop ups: Streaming Services loading Activation Required.
We remove Office 2013 and reload. After another 24 hours, Office will let you open programs but says the following in lower right corner pop up: Office is installing in the background - 84 - been stuck there for over 12 hours. Getting your new office ready for use - Hold on, this should only take a few moments I have seen several things about clean boots, complete uninstalls, Control Panel repairs (already did quick and complete unsuccessfully), etc. Only thing we have not done is the whole clean boot thing but trying that now. ![]() Anyone seen this We have done north of 100 Office 2013 installs and this is a first. Also have 5 other MS Office 2013 installs in the exact same domain environment the last week with no issues. Also, check Windows Updates, make sure all are done, especially.NET Framework and all Recommended Updates and then restart.. ThinkpadsUser. Dont forget that Windows 8 will wait for 2 days to restart after updates if you do not force it. This could be especially true on a Desktop if you leave it run all the time.. I have seen this before and it never hung up, just took some time. Customer is on a 1.5 Mbps T-1 so hoping this is a valid prompt and may actually complete this time. There is a chance my first attempt after all the changes got messed up in the process and may have kicked 2 attempts off. Ive had installation of various Microsoft OSes fail because of flaws in the hard disk.
